Football restart information

It’ll be great to have football back at the Racecourse this weekend to see some rusty first touches and people looking more out-of-breath than usual after a month off.

We’re happy that the bar remains open for drinks which must be consumed outside. Each team is to have a nominated person who will collect the drinks from a table near the backdoor, and bring them to you. No one should go inside the clubhouse unless it’s to use the toilet or collect/drop off equipment. Do please stick around for a drink after your game if you’re playing at home on Saturday. And please don’t all stand in front of the door!

Please keep to groups of six when socialising and practice social distancing.

Training

Training is back (again!). You will be able to book your place at training online from 6pm on Sunday. You must reserve a spot – you cannot attend without booking. Training takes place at New River Sports Centre.

  • Men’s training is on Tuesdays 8-9.30pm
  • Women’s training is on Wednesdays 7-8.30pm

We are looking for a new coach to take the 1-4s training on Tuesday evenings. If you or someone you know would be interested in taking training, please contact Tim Banks

Rainbow Laces

Rainbow Laces Campaign 2020 runs from Nov 26th – Dec 13th

AP will be again supporting the Rainbow Laces campaign.

We have a supply of Rainbow Laces to distribute to anyone who would like a pair. You can pick them up from the Clubhouse.

Over the last four years Rainbow Laces campaign has helped generate a huge amount of awareness around LGBT people in sport. 12 million people in Britain saw the campaign in November 2018, including 34 per cent of all sport fans. More importantly, Rainbow Laces has helped foster positive attitudes towards LGBT people in sport and persuaded allies to play their part.

Selection

Picked and cannot play? You NEED to cry off – certainly let your captain know, but the priority is to let the named cry off officer for the week know – he is the one that will coordinate players moving up the teams to cover your absence!

This week the cry off officer is: Duncan Anderson 07890 950314
