Goals: Scudamore (2)
FARHAD SHAHIDI – Not particularly busy but a few crucial interceptions, including a fabulous late save to protect the 3 points
JAMIE SCUDAMORE – Imperious at the back and won us the game with two towering headers – both of which have to be goal of the season contenders for their context and importance to our season.
OLI PUGH – Same again from Mr Consistency. Swept up, did everything required and is at the heart of the best defence in the division.
MIKE MYERS – See above. To my mind probably the most under-rated player in Minor Division 4. The media may not give him the credit he deserves, but we do. Also cleared one off the line.
ROBIN LAW – Adds pace and power and another dimension from wingback. Sound in defence and a threat going forward. Definitely going to score against Old Parks.
JOHN SCANTLEBURY – Another two assists and kept their best player in his pocket – what more could you ask for?
DEREK GRAHAM – Comfortably slotted into the midfield for the crucial last 25 minutes and was unlucky not to add a couple of goals to a battling performance.
NICK LEE – Huge performance in the middle of midfield winning tackles and headers and using the ball well. Crucial.
MICHAEL POLLARD (Man of the match) – Sublime in the engine room. All over the pitch breaking up play, starting attacking moves and travelling with the ball.
DANNY WELBECK – Perhaps should have scored…. But with 6 in 9 we’ll forgive him. Besides he did everything else, making a complete handful of himself yet again and terrorising the Broomfield defence. Get a Monday to Friday job.
WAYNE ROSE – As classy as his pristine white socks. Looks like he was born to be a left wingback.
DITMIR – Gave us an important outlet in the second half, using the space to bomb up the wing and put Broomfield on the back foot with his attacking prowess.
JACK DUDMISH – The trequartista. The enganche. The meia-atacante. The number 10. The oil in our engine. The architect. Once again linked up our attacking play with skill, intelligence and resilience. Bravo.
Final away game this Saturday. Has to be three points. See you there
