Groundwork at the Racecourse
After many years of discussion as of last week the contractors are on site to carry out drainage and irrigation work on the ground that will hopefully obviate many of the problems experienced by both cricket and football clubs over recent years.
In the coming few months use of the ground will obviously be limited but we will aim to use the pitches as much as possible working with the contractors. It is important to remember that the Clubhouse will remain as the home base and will be very much open for business. The Clubhouse will be open every Saturday – members of all the Clubs under the APC umbrella – football, youth football and cricket – are urged to support the bar. We hope that SKY etc., will be sorted shortly to encourage/retain attendance.
AP Player of the Month Sponsor
We are happy to be working with new Crouch End restaurant Tootoomoo. The guys there have been kind enough to sponsor an AP player of the month award, the winners of which will receive a delicious meal out at Tootoomoo! Captains will be asked to consider a range of factors – not just performance on the pitch – reliability, promptness with subs, punctuality etc. The committee will then take the nominations of each captain and decide on the overall winner. We are really pleased to be working with Tootoomoo as we believe that encapsulates the values that we stand for as a club – community based and value for money!
AP Golf Day
The autumn AP Golf Day playing for the Jack Drake Trophy takes place on Monday 26th November at Toot Hill Golf Club, near Ongar in Essex. The course is apparently a hidden gem, and there’s not many of those in Essex, so worthy of a visit if you are a golfer. The day will consist of meeting at 9am for coffee and bacon rolls, 18 holes of golf and a late afternoon lunch, total cost including prizes will be £35.
