Another frustrating afternoon for the 8s. For reasons why we didn’t get a result or score please see previous three match reports. We didn’t really put any pressure on the home team, or look like scoring, until the last 15 minutes of the game, mainly due to our poor possession all over the pitch.
Decent performances from Will Dudmish, Steven Payne, Tim Soundy and Peter Croft but little else to get excited about. Steve Payne was a threat and came close to a goal of the season contender with a left foot volley from the edge of the box. Otherwise it was 8s keeper Jamie Roberts that kept the score at 1-0. A number of solid saves plus a penalty stop in the first half easily gives him the MOM for this game. A couple of new faces this week will hopefully bring an end to this poor run and move us up the table again.
