Firstly a few pleas. It has been pointed out that the 3s score had been omitted from the website on the last post. This is quite simply because I did not know it – I have now been informed and the site updated – if your score is not on the site please contact Matt Piner (newsletter), Ryan Taylor (website) or Jason Smith (twitter). Further some team pages are currently out of date (match reports especially) if anyone would like to get involved in the site and assist with some of the administration please email me. Finally in the age of smart phones if you can take a photo during the game (subs!) and for those teams missing a team photo and send it on it would be appreciated.
Here are some selected match reports that have been sent to me. Firstly “The Viking” is on duty for the ones and whilst he starts with the sublime Dolly quote “If you want the rainbow, you’ve gotta put up with the rain” he goes on to give out laundry advice, lots of laundry advice, to the point of obsession and finishes with Mr Brent’s “You just have to accept that some days you are the pigeon, and some days you are the statue”.
Current Clubman of the Year, Dave Mcloughlin, picks up the reserves tale of a 2 – 1 victory against Weirside Rangers. Despite having a striker who “can sprint but can’t jog” . Michael “Bardgie” Bardgett has picked up scribe duty for the 3s cup defeat against Old Owens. The sentance “Gary Jones producing a superb last ditch sliding challenge” will become a handy catch phrase. And finally the 5s are in downbeat mood after a 4 – 1 defeat against EBOGs in the SAL cup “on the evidence of Saturday we have to go a long way as a team.”
