Janno’s reward for a first team victory.
It was a good week for the top half of the club this weekend. The first team won 2 – 1 against Alleyn Old Boys, Hancock and Manu with the goals but BigBadBukkas gives a realistic assessment of the performance. The Morris/McLoughlin management partnership is beginning to bear fruit as the 2’s won 2 – 0, Kenga and an in form Spencer with the goals.
The 3rd team continue to be APs form club – another victory, this time 3-2 against IBIS. The fourth team continue to show promise under the watchful eye and broken fingers of Alex Reynolds, winning 3 -2 in the AFA minor cup, Callaghan entering the fray with 30 minutes to go and notching a hat trick (that’s what he told me anyway).
The fifth teams recent good form came to a crashing halt against Broomfield 5s at Firs Farm, a couple of bad decisions and a poor performance are to blame. Congratulations to Millsy and the 6’s who managed to pick up a first point of the season and move of the foot of the table, a goalless draw at New River enough to have “Big” Chris Noakes enquiring about the intricacies of the Golden Gloves award. The answer is still no Chris, walk over’s are not counted as clean sheets.
The 7s lost 2-1 to EBOGs, our Twitter has 7s skipper Brough credited with the goal – this seems unlikely unless it was Nayim-esque strike from the stalwart centre back. The 8s also lost , Gayle with a goal as they went down 3 – 1.
