Goal; Doolan
The 8s got seriously turned over by a very good O. Finchs 7s at Oakhill Park. On this performance they must have bloody good 5s and 6s. They were fitter, faster, more organised and a blatant example of a club within a club. They should go far!
We had a new look squad and some players were having their first taste of action this season. AP were soon chasing shadows and by half-time we were 5-0 down. OFs didn’t have to work too hard to score their goals which was hugely disappointing. There were free headers in the six yard box, for example and some less than committed tackling. We were all over the place in every department, and our inability to keep the ball cost us dear. That said, we should have taken the lead but Azamat Tailabek scuffed his shot when he was clean through.
The skipper made two changes at the break: the boys were shell-shocked. Well, we all were. The second half saw some improvement even though we gifted them a sixth literally seconds after the re-start. Taylor Doolan scored a very good consolation late on but there was still time for OFs to score three more as AP tired in the sunshine. Among the wreckage, Derek Graham, Matt Malone and Bryan King had solid games.
