At the end of this season we’ll be losing our very own Cheshire Cafu, John Spinks, who is moving out of London to a part of the country where you don’t see a one-bed flat for £500,000 and think “…not bad”. According to his own records, over the last eight years John played 142 games for AP, scoring 11 goals. Thanks for your service to the club, and we look forward to welcoming you back in the Diamond Suite at some point in the future.
His hospital ball to Matt Dodimead away at Alleyn Old Boys on the day after the club dinner will live long in the memory of those who witnessed it.
Fundraising tournament – Monday May 31st
We’re looking at organising an inter-club 7-a-side tournament to take place on the bank holiday, 31 May. Funds raised would go back in to the club. All being well, it should be a great day out with the bar open and food being available. If you are interested in attending, let your captain know. If you’d like to help with the event in any way, speak to Tim Banks.
Committee positions
It’s nearly that time of year when the positions on the Committee are up for election. If you’d like to be involved in the running of the club, feel free to ask one of us or your captain what it involves.
The current chair, results secretary and website officer won’t be standing again next season, so do think if you have something to give the club, particularly in those capacities.
