End of Season Dinner – Friday 10th May
“The” event of the football club season and not to be missed.
Our guest speaker this year is Brian Scovell who spent forty years with Associated Newspapers – Daily Sketch and Daily Mail – as a cricket and football writer and is now concentrating on writing books. Several were best sellers and four, about Jim Laker, the England football managers, Brian Lara and Bill Nicholson, were short listed for the British Sports Books Award. Last year he was made Life Vice President of the Football Writers Association as recognition for his outstanding contribution to the FWA as both a Life Member and the longest serving member of the National Committee.
Tickets are 25 quid, for an evening of great grub, great speeches spent amongst great people. Let your skipper or Richard Gibbs know if you wish to attend by Monday 6th May.
