Over the past 2 years, a huge amount of investment that has gone into the drainage and irrigation works on the pitches, as well as the purchase of new goal posts and cricket nets, the club has spent a great amount of money, with little impact upon the fees of membership. The money that you pay in order to play – match fees and subscriptions – only really cover the day to day cost of running the club – ground rent, groundsmen, referees fees, league charges, food cost, water, gas and electricity etc. No-one at the club takes a wage or does not pay their fees. In the past for anything over and above these running costs we have relied on the generous donations of a few individuals, but with this project, we need the backing of the entire club. Our target is £20,000. This will be spent on state of the art agricultural equipment which will put our playing surface on a par with the best in North London, and increase play in January instead of being rained off with waterlogged pitches!).
We urge you all to dig deep, donate whatever you can and support the club. With the size of or membership base, we should be able to reach our target. Donating is easy – click the link under the title and follow the prompts. Also make sure you select gift aid so we can stitch up George Osborne and get the tax back.
