With relegation confirmed, Mr Gibbs, on cry off duty, struggled to persuade anyone to travel with the first team to Dulwich to face Alleyn Old Boys on Saturday. The bare 11 travelled out there for what appears to have been an American football game. Goalscorers TBC. 2’s skipper Mcloughlin had to watch on from the sidelines as his side drew 1-1 at The Racecourse against BB Eagles. Kenga with the goal.
Kurt’s 3s are still pushing for promotion having won 3 – 1 against HSBC. Goalscorer’s TBC. A sad day on the back pitch as the only ‘top flight’ AP team were relegated. Mark Smith’s 4s couldn’t quite find enough to overcome a promotion chasing Old Actionians 4s – although Coughlan’s spectacular strike gave hope. Bottom of the league Carshalton were beaten 20 -1 by top of the league Winchmore Hill the same day.
The 5s were not in action. The 6s kicked off early and needed a victory to ensure they stayed out of the relegation zone. A strong Southgate team though ran out 4 – 1 winners, Dunning’s lucky strike, a superb curling effort from the edge of the box not enough for any points. We’re hoping Southgate are just as strong against Crouch End Vamps next week. The 7s were also not in action and the 8s went down 1 – 5 against top of the league Old Finchleians, Weaver with the AP strike.
