The 5th team survive another Old Parmiterians attack.
4 defeats, 3 wins and a draw in this weekends round up. Starting at the top of the club the 1st XI were beaten 4 – 0 at Civil Service. BBB describes the AFA cup action here. The reserves managed to continue the winning streak that they have been enjoying and ending Polytechnic’s 100% record. Skipper and goal scorer McLoughlin describes his and Spencer’s goals in the 2-1 win.
If the reserves are hot the 3s are on fire. Another win, this time 3 – 1 against South Bank Cuaco. The 4s bounced back from defeat last week with a 3 – 2 win at home against Polytechnic 4s, an OG and a Reynolds brace.
The fifth team were also in AFA cup action and succumbed to a 2 – 1 home defeat against an Old Parmiterians team with a 100% record this season, mostly though, due to the referee. Skipper Mills claimed a hat trick as his team managed to score 6 against Norsemen 8s (Dawkins, Jones and Bendnash also on target) but that elusive first win still evades them as the game finished 6 all.
The 7’s lost 3 – 1 at home to Old Fincelians 7’s and the 8’s also lost 3 – 1 away to East Barnet OGs. Beswick scoring for the 8s.
