6’s captain, Anthony Mills: the referees favourite
We have received the following report from the referee of our 6th XI’s game against BB Eagles last Saturday. Well done to all involved for upholding the good name of AP. An example to all our sides.
“This was a terrific game and both sides should be congratulated on their displays of football and sportsmanship. I was afforded the utmost respect throughout the whole 140 minutes and enjoyed the whole afternoon.”

Chairman Tony Bent said “Well done to Captain Anthony Mills on turning around the 6’s under fire reputation in a week, was it my gentle prod about respect to our refs or did he buy the ref 6 pints at the end of the game and say you scratch my back and I’ll scratch yours – as Millsy marked the ref 99 out of 100 saying nobody’s perfect.”
