Saturday marked the biggest game of the season so far for Alexandra Park’s perfect 10(‘th team). The inter-club derby against the 9s was finally afoot.
Having slipped to a disappointing first league loss the previous week, AP 9s were eager to bounce back in this away game against one of two Vamps teams in our division.
Without manager Bancelotti we were lucky to be able to call upon the Spinkerman for his tactical nous on how to counter Old Park’s 8’s and Storm Brian (well mainly Storm Brian). We were on pitch 3, with the wind giving such an advantage to each side for 45 minutes, that even one of Gus’s goal kick’s might have made halfway.
It was blowing a hoolie down at Alexandra Park Racecourse and the game was sure to be like a good episode of Coronation Street in the fact that Gail would surely play a huge part.
