This was a very tight game on a very cold and wet Saturday afternoon at New River. It was a good game to watch as both teams tried to score the all important first goal. Sadly Old Stationers got it, following a magical turn and finish from their dangerous number ten. AP worked hard but could not get back on level terms. We were not helped by a dubious off side decision. Old Stationers got a second as we were pushing for an equalizer and that was game over.
We were very solid in defence and were always in the game however our attacking football is letting us down at the moment. We are the second lowest scoring team in the division and need to improve this statistic if we want to avoid a relegation scrap. Every Saturday we have enough possession to create 5 or 6 clear cut chances however our communication, movement and decision making on the ball needs to better.
