The 6th team registered our first win of the season in some style against Southgate Olympic 5’s at home in the cup last Saturday week. We kicked off at 3pm in the small pitch after finally getting the goalposts to fit into the dented recessed pots in the ground!
After an impressive start where Southgate were unable to string two passes together, we reached half time 3-1 ahead and in control of proceedings thanks to goals from Spencer and Jack. That was until two minutes into the second half when we switched off and suddenly the game was back at 3-2 and Southgate began to impose themselves a lot more. Our response was exactly what was required, Craig made a good run and scored from a good counter attack move and we were firmly back in control. The game was closed out with Rich’s effort and ensured that we comfortably marched onto the 2nd round of the Cup!
