Played at firs farm on a half decent pitch, we started confidently keeping possession with some neat short passing, unfortunately we lost the Italian property mogul Luigi after just 10 mins when a clash of heads gave him and his oppo nasty gashes around the eyes and head, they were carted off to the knackers yard, and Luigi was replaced by shrinking violet Uli the terminator.
They took the lead after Farhad produced a good save from close range but couldn’t prevent their big forwards follow-up, this against the run of play as we had chances to be 3 or 4 up with plenty of ball. We equalised when Cullum scored from the penalty spot after a handball.
We continued to press and enjoyed plenty of possession for the rest of half, but their impressive keeper (4 excellent saves) kept them in the game.
The 2nd half continued pretty much the same with their keeper being called into action more and more, we finally got our much deserved 2nd goal when josh slammed the ball home from close range from Adams excellent cross.
They upped their game and pushed another man forward and equalised with 10 mins left with a fluky cross shot.
Not despondent we scored the winner with 5 mins remaining when Cullum slipped the ball past their on coming keeper after Josh had picked him out with a 40 yard pass. A good win against a strong Hill side, good passing, good discipline, and good prospects.
I know he gets a lot of bad press but i have to mention 4 very good saves in the 2nd half that Farhad made, that prevented them taking the lead when they had a 10 min spell of strong pressure.
Well done to everyone, things look quite promising for the season ahead.
