Scorer: Wayne Rose
On a cold, wet windy day, we all gathered early at Bounds Green for the Long trek across the city for this cup match.
From the kickoff the opposition seemed to be more up for it than us, and they seemed to dominate the possession in the 1st Half. Things went from bad to worse when, the normally reliable Chris in goal spilled a fairly straight forward shot to their Striker. GOAL! He calmly finished from 5 yards.
Now instead of grouping together as a team and fighting back (like we have done so well in the past) we decided to start arguing and fighting on the field, not with the opposition but with one another, which was a first for this team! Needless to say things went from bad to worse, we fell apart and before we knew it we were 0-3 down. With 20 minutes Left to play, I managed to chip a ball over the defence, Wayne Rose, who battled all afternoon, ran onto it, and finished well from 15 yards! Well done Wayne, a good effort once again! However there was to be no dramatic come back as the opposition score a fourth, five minutes later and it was all over 1-4. They were the better team on the day, and we cannot complain about the result.
As agreed in the change room after the match, that players slating their own team mates on the field will not be tolerated, If this happens again,(no matter how good these players are) they will not play for the 6th team again!
On a positive note we have put that behind us and we have one big league match to play on Saturday before the break. Let’s get 3 more vital points on Saturday Lads. We can do it!
